Sorry, I really have to step in here. I've played all "sports" and aside from aerobic capacity, the underlying theme in "ball sports" is hand/body-eye coordination.
Golf is the most demanding in this. It is also the most psychologically stressful in competition. Other "ball sports" all you have to do is react to a moving ball/defender. The fact that the golf ball is static is the part that makes it way more demanding. IMO :)
